At the reception instead of playing the shoe game or other commonly found games we will be giving you a little taste of what DnD is like. For these challenges you will need to pick a race and a class. We have designated four races to our families to get you started:
Races
The Flewwellings – Elves
“Elves are a magical people of otherworldly grace, living in the world but not entirely part of it.”
The Deals – Gnomes
“Gnomes take delight in life, enjoying every moment of invention, exploration, investigation, creation, and play.”
The Smiths – Dwarves
“Dwarves are solid and enduring like the mountains they love, weathering the passage of centuries with stoic endurance and little change.”
The Dohertys – Halflings
“The comforts of home are the goals of most halflings’ lives: a place to settle in peace and quiet, far from marauding monsters and clashing armies.”
Please choose one of these races for your DnD character. Check out this link for more information about these races:
Classes
According to the DnD webpage “Your class is the primary definition of what your character can do in the extraordinary magical landscape of Dungeons & Dragons. A class is more than a profession; it is your character’s calling.” The common classes you’ll find in DnD are:
Fighter:
“Questing knights, conquering overlords, royal champions, elite foot soldiers, hardened mercenaries, and bandit kings—as fighters, they all share an unparalleled mastery with weapons and armor, and a thorough knowledge of the skills of combat.”
Wizard:
“Drawing on the subtle weave of magic that permeates the cosmos, wizards cast spells of explosive fire, arcing lightning, subtle deception, and brute-force mind control.”
Cleric:
“Clerics are intermediaries between the mortal world and the distant planes of the gods. As varied as the gods they serve, they strive to embody the handiwork of their deities.”
Rogue:
“Rogues rely on skill, stealth, and their foes’ vulnerabilities to get the upper hand in any situation. They have a knack for finding the solution to just about any problem, bringing resourcefulness and versatility to their adventuring parties.”
Ranger:
“Far from the bustle of cities and towns, amid the dense-packed trees of trackless forests and across wide and empty plains, rangers keep their unending watch.”
Please choose one of these classes for your DnD character. To find out more about these classes you can check out the link below:
